Something flicked a switch — a birthday, a health check, getting winded on the stairs, a photo you didn't recognise. You've let things slide and you want yourself back: stronger, fitter, with energy in the tank. Not a punishing six-week blitz — a sustainable reset that actually holds.
Life filled up — work, kids, everything else — and your own fitness quietly dropped off the list. You're not chasing who you were at 25. You want to feel strong, energetic and capable in the body you've got now, and you want to start before it gets any harder.
You've noticed the slide: less energy, less strength, more out of breath than you'd like.
Something recently made it real — a number on a form, a photo, a flight of stairs.
You want to feel capable and energetic again, not just lighter on a scale.
You're worried you've left it too long, or that you're too unfit to even start.
You've quit hard programs before and you don't want another thrash-and-burn.
How we actually solve this
We build you back up,we don't break you down.
Everything is scaled to you
Every single movement is scaled to you — not to a class, not to a leaderboard, but to your body, your history and whatever you're working around. We meet you exactly where you are on day one and build from there. You'll never be thrown in the deep end and told to keep up.
Coached, structured, built to last
You're coached the whole way, never just supervised — a coach manages the intensity and decides when you've earned a little more. It's structured, in-house programming, not random punishment for a sweat. That's the difference between training that wears you down and a reset that quietly makes you fitter.
Why you can trust this
An over-40s specialistand a long-game philosophy.
We're a small, owner-led gym — not a franchise and not a machine-lined fitness chain. The coaches learn your name and your history, and one of them genuinely specialises in helping people over 40 get strong again.
01
An over-40s specialist
Coach Matt Williams is an accredited sports nutritionist and strength coach who specialises in helping people over 40 build strength and stay capable. Getting bodies like yours moving again is his actual area.
02
Properly certified coaching
Head coaches Alan Silva (CrossFit Level 3) and Scott Richardson (Level 2) write structured, in-house programming. You're coached by qualified people, not pointed at a whiteboard and left to it.
03
Scaled by design
Every movement has an easier and a harder version built in. You train alongside fitter members — same intent, different load — and nobody is comparing your weights to anyone else's.
04
Food, if you want it
Midlife change is training and food. Optional nutrition coaching is there when you're ready, so the work in the gym isn't undone in the kitchen. No fads, just sustainable habits.
What you'd actually do here
A clear, sensiblepath in.
No surprises, no being thrown in the deep end. Here's exactly how it goes from first contact to training regularly.
01
Free consultation
We sit down and talk — your goals, your history, any injuries or niggles, what set this off. No workout, no pressure. We just listen and prescribe a sensible starting point.
02
Fundamentals
A short onboarding (two sessions — group $99 or private $160) where we teach the core movements and show you exactly how scaling works. You start confident, not overwhelmed.
03
Scaled classes
You step into coached classes where everything is scaled to your current body. The intensity is managed for you, so you work hard at your level and leave feeling better, not broken.
04
Train regularly
Settle into a rhythm on a membership that suits you — 2 Classes Per Week ($38.50/wk) or Unlimited ($55/wk). Two good sessions a week is genuinely enough to start the turnaround.
There is no fitness level you need to reach before you're allowed to start — that's the whole point of scaling. We meet you where you are today, however far that is from where you'd like to be, and build up gradually. The unfit, out-of-practice version of you is exactly who walks in the door first. You're normal here.
“I'll injure myself at my age.”
Injuries come from bad loading and no coaching — not from movement itself. Here the load is scaled to you and a coach is watching every session, with technique first and intensity earned. Done this way, training is one of the most protective things you can do for a body in its 40s and 50s.
“I don't have the time for this.”
Two 60-minute sessions a week is enough to start, and it's a genuine reset — not a daily grind you can't sustain. Most people in their 40s and 50s find the energy those sessions give them back more than pays for the hour. You don't need to rearrange your life, just protect a couple of slots.
“Is it too late for me?”
It's the opposite of too late — your 40s and 50s are the best time to start, not the worst. This is exactly the stage when strength training pays off most: it's what protects your muscle, energy and independence for the decades ahead. The only mistake is waiting another year to begin.
+++
I'd let fifteen years slide and turning 48 was the kick I needed. I was sure I'd be the unfit bloke at the back. Six months in I'm sleeping better, I've got energy after work again, and I'm doing things I genuinely couldn't do at 35. I just wish I'd started sooner.
