Why you can trust this
Specialist coaches. A long-game philosophy.
-
An over-40s specialist
Coach Matt Williams is an accredited sports nutritionist and strength coach who specialises in training people over 40.
-
Properly certified
Head coach Scott Richardson (CrossFit Level 2) leads a certified team, and the in-house programming you're coached through is written here — not pulled from a feed.
-
Scaled by design
Every movement has an easier version built in, so nobody is singled out and nothing is thrown away for a faster time.
I came in convinced I'd be the oldest, weakest person there. Two years on I'm carrying my own kayak down to the water and getting up off the floor without thinking about it.

Before you ask
The honest answers to what you're thinking.
-
“Isn't this going to hurt me?”
Injuries come from bad loading and no coaching. Here the load is scaled to you and a coach watches every session.
-
“I'm too old for this.”
You're the right age for it. Strength and balance decline unless you train them — and they respond at any age.
-
“Won't everyone be 25?”
No. We're a community gym in a region full of active over-60s, and our classes reflect that. BodyTone especially.
