Whether it's soccer, league, AFL, netball or nippers, the kids who pull ahead are the ones who move well, recover fast and don't break down. Our dedicated Kids & Teens classes build that athletic base — coached properly, scaled to their age, and designed to carry straight back onto the field.
They love their sport. You want them to thrive at it.
Skills training and game day are only part of the picture. The athleticism underneath — speed, power, coordination, the ability to absorb contact and keep going — is what separates the kids who keep improving from the ones who plateau or get hurt.
You want them faster, stronger and more coordinated for their sport.
You've noticed they're keen but a bit raw, clumsy or easily knocked off the ball.
Niggles and minor injuries keep interrupting their season.
You'd love them building good movement habits now, while it's easy.
You want something that supports their sport — not another competing commitment.
How we actually develop them
Coached, not babysat —and built around their age.
Coached, not babysat
Our Kids & Teens classes aren't watered-down adult CrossFit or a free-for-all while a coach watches the clock. They're a structured, age-appropriate program — taught, corrected and progressed by a coach the whole way, exactly like the adult classes, just scaled to a growing body.
Bodyweight first, load earned
The work is bodyweight-led — running, jumping, landing, balancing — building strength through their own size before any real load is added. From there we layer in progressive, well-coached resistance the way sports science says you should, growing speed, power and durability that shows up on the field.
Why you can trust this
Real athletic-development credibility.Coaches who care.
We're a small, owner-led gym — not a franchise with a token kids' hour. The program is led by people who actually understand developing young athletes, and your child is coached by name, not processed through a class.
01
Led by a national-level athlete
Scott Richardson (CrossFit Level 2, eight-time Australian sprint champion) leads the Kids & Teens program. Speed, power and athletic development are literally his background.
02
Warm, qualified coaches
Marina De Santos brings a PE and sport-science background, and Amelia Nowlan is one of our most welcoming coaches. Your child is in genuinely capable, caring hands.
03
Age-appropriate by design
Separate Kids and Teens times, with every movement scaled to the child in front of us. They're challenged at the right level — never pushed past it.
04
Safe and supervised
Structured, coached sessions plus our NSW child-safe commitment and code of conduct. Technique comes first, load is earned, and a coach is watching every rep.
How your child would start
A simple, no-pressureway in.
No deep end, no being thrown in with strangers. Here's exactly how it goes from your first message to your child training regularly.
01
Enquire
Leave your details and tell us your child's age and the sport they play. A coach calls you back — no obligation, no sales pitch.
02
A quick chat
We talk through their age, sport and where they're at, and answer any questions you have about safety, scaling or what the classes actually involve.
03
An age-appropriate class
We slot them into the right Kids or Teens class to try. They're coached and scaled from the very first session — they'll fit straight in.
04
Lock in a plan
Settle into a rhythm on a term or casual plan. If they're eligible, the NSW Active Kids voucher brings term plans down to as little as $24.99.
“Isn't strength training bad for kids — won't it stunt their growth?”
This is a long-standing myth, and the research is clear: properly coached, age-appropriate strength training does not stunt growth. In fact it helps build strong bones, coordination and resilient joints. What actually hurts kids is unsupervised, badly loaded lifting — which is exactly what we don't do. Everything is scaled, progressive and watched by a coach.
“Is it just adult CrossFit for kids?”
No. The Kids & Teens program is its own thing — bodyweight-led, skill-focused and built for growing bodies, with separate times for younger kids and teens. It borrows the coaching quality of our adult classes, not the loads.
“Are the coaches qualified, and is it safe?”
Yes. The program is led by Scott Richardson (CrossFit Level 2 and an eight-time Australian sprint champion), supported by coaches with PE and sport-science backgrounds. Sessions are structured, supervised and backed by our NSW child-safe commitment and code of conduct.
“Will they get hurt or pushed too hard?”
Our whole method is technique first, intensity earned. A coach scales every movement to your child and decides when they're ready for more. Done this way, training is one of the best things your child can do to reduce sports injuries — not cause them.

My son plays junior league and was always getting bumped off the ball. Two terms in he's faster, steadier on his feet and he actually understands how to land and brace. His coach noticed before I even mentioned it.
